IITD: A brief history

A new day, a new post :)
I find myself a lot busy these hols mainly sleeping then music, fb and novels which leads to this delay in my post. Nevertheless देर आये दुरुस्त आये :)
Before plunging into today's topic I would like to talk a bit about my previous post. Looks like my yesterday's words were considered a bit too casual on my 'casual notepad'. Nevertheless I would like to thank my mom and Aditya for their feedback(though commenting on the blog itself would be much appreciated). Also I would like to give a small jist of yesterday's post. It was not just an elaboration of 'bakaiti' but a promise to myself to lead to a situation reversal, ie initially I was the one knowing most about Bakaiti and others asking about it and in the end I want that people get to know about it through my poem and I myself keep myself away from it and become as unaware of it as the readers were in the beginning.
About today, well, its just a small history of my college IIT Delhi which is not completely known even to all the IITD people. So hope it enlightens all.....

Currently I am studying in IITD
but a thought always comes to me
how did this great institution come to reality
which great mind thought of this idea wity

Surprisingly the place where I study(somehow)
was not always an IIT as we know it now
It was College of Engineering and Technology
whose foundation was quite princely

Prince philip laid the foundation stone
he was as the Duke of Edinburgh known
Prof. Humayun Kabir did the inaugration
the date being 21st August 1961

As the college proved its excellence
within less than a two years of its existence
the parliament amended the Institutes of Technology act
and hence this college was now a part of the IIT pact

The 1st two hostels were Vindhyanchal and Shivalik
these two hostels gave the college the  starting kick
Then came Kailash for the girls
as beautiful as diamonds and pearls

Aravali, Jwalamukhi, Karakoram, Nilgiri came later on
and even further late came Himadri and Kumaon
Satpura and Zanskar are quite recent
Now even Girnar is making its advent

Even our main building is not from start
it was founded later by a man really smart
the deed occurred on march 2 1968
by Dr. Zakir Hussain, our president great

So all this sums up the beginning of this set up
made for studying but what happens is गप शप
It'll be real fun staying here
where I hope now I will become sincere :)

Bakaiti

Went to IIT yet again today(which is the reason for this post coming so late) and yet again to witness another wrecked paper. Well there'll be a post on my wrecked grades but a bit later when all are finally announced.
Anyways enlightenment on the term bakaiti is my aim for the day. Though most of the readers from IIT(D at least) know this term well, it's important for me to make this term clear for the janta at large as I will be using this 'term' often in my blogs in future(like I did in my very first :)). It is a harsh reminder to me on what bakaiti can lead to so as to stay away from it in future.
So without much ado, let me begin.....

Once I entered the life of IIT
without realising I also plunged into Bakaiti
it engulfed me without me knowing
the harvest of its seeds is not worth even ploughing

All non IITians ask "what the hell is bakaiti?"
and all I can say is that its just a game of the people free
to talk about or do anything arbit on their mind
and to see a bakait stay put at a single place is very difficult to find

Still, bakaiti is not everyone's taste
for it makes a lot of time go waste
and even I know what it has done to me
its not left me with a single thing to be happy

In the end what I do realise is
that bakaiti only provides temporary bliss
but actually its a great great evil
that when it will dominate it will be very difficult to kill

All I can do now is to do a promise to me
that I'll never be associated again with this bakaiti
I wanna become like someone for whom I'm writing this rhyme
asking "What the hell is bakaiti?", hope this happens soon sometime.

1) So you see my pen name will keep changing ;)
2) I noticed that many people do read this blog but neither comment nor follow. I urge you all to please at least tell me my flaws so that I may improve and follow to get updates of my latest posts in your IDs.
It will also help me realise the progress of my blog.
Its just a humble request......

26/11

Went to IITD today for a while to see the worst of all my papers(physics) and am happy that the worst's now over. Rather that lamenting about my majors I better get on with my task for the day.
A friend pointed out the date yesterday saying it was a good day to start with something on 26/11. It was then I realised that he was right. I debated with myself about this post being made today but I though that its never too late. So here I am today with not just a humble tribute to those who were unknowingly and unwantingly victimised by this shameful act of terrorism and fought bravely to restore peace but what I am here with is the complete story unravelled in my words.
This whole event led to many innocent deaths but happily a few of those ugly masked men were slain as well for which I salute the police, army, NSG and the ATS. Hopefully the terrorists have finally understood our might and would not dare to target India again and if they do we are ready for them........

What a peaceful night it was

but our water navigation had some flaws
which allowed the masked men to approach
the Indian land with an idea to encroach

The people slept away safe and sound
unaware of the terror sailing around
they reached the coast and entered our land
with a lot of arms and ammunition in hand

Their plans were all set
even rain could not make them wet
they attacked all places great
which took off in eve at around 8

They somehow reached CST, Trident and even Taj Palace

not leaving behind even a single trace
Those rascals even attacked Leopold, Nariman and metro cinema

and tried to kill women and children  at St. Xaviers and Cama

Ville Parle and Mazagon were also not left
leaving many places silent and bereft
so you see how cunning they were
and how smartly they displayed their power

Now I come to the Indian side
who were determined to break the terrorists' pride
Although it took a day or two
but the police secured all sites except a few

It took a while to reach Taj
but we had to save our लाज
So the ATS and NSG all combined
with the police they lined
and entered their fortress
where they had created great havoc and mess

Finally all the drama was over
and all felt a lot more safer
but in all we incurred a huge loss
and we still had to nab the big boss

still we had captured Kasab at least
and gosh, he did look like a beast
a small time ago he was sentenced to death
but he was happy to quietly lose his breath
for he didn't want to reveal the mastermind
and wanted us to have difficulty to make the find

In the end I salute the cops, NSG and the ATS
and also congratulate the courage of the press
that they all were bravely there at the scene of action
the cops doing it all and the media recording the reaction.

JAI HIND!!! JAI HIND!!! JAI HIND!!

My very first few words

As the blog title suggests the blog will be my casual notepad where I'll write some of my words mainly in forms of poems(those who know me well would have thought that out themselves :D)....
It took me an entire semester to actually start writing. I thought about this blog even before entering IIT. Now that I've plunged into the winter vacations I'll be soon filling a lot of my words in this Notepad of mine :) (Waise even during semester time not studying leaves me with a lot of time though maybe that will go away in bakaiti* :D)
The feature I share with my fellow IITian bloggers is that it'll definitely be a bit about my life at IIT-D(especially Aravali :)). But what would be my identity would be my rhymes that hopefully would provide a change from the normal style of blogging. Also my non IIT stuff would definitely not be about movie reviews etc but some general important things about life.
So that's what this blog is about
Read, rhyme feel and enjoy

PS-
For those who don't know me yet
I would like to tell you all about me
I'm just like a small cute pet
with whom you all can feel free

Earlier a Dipsite from Faridabad
currently a CS student in IIT-D
kahan jaunga main iske baad
that's not even known to me :D

People here call me Behti Hawa
which is a small jist about my nature
I keep flowing like an energetic lava
and Bakaiti* is my basic feature

In all I'm just a talkative boy
eager to make new friends
I'll become your favourite toy
that's the message that my soul sends

*Bakaiti- Just means that doing arbitrary senseless stuff to pass your time and waste others :D
