Band, Baaja, Baraat

Don't think I'm going to talk about the stupid movie Band, Baaja, Baraat(and its exceptionally stupid actor). What I'm gonna talk about is a bit about the modern Indian weddings. With the advent of the wedding season and having received invitations to a few I will take this post as an oppurtunity to realise the truth behind all the band, baaja and baraat and also see if we can do without it too(which I believe, we definitely can) ......

A wedding is definitely  time to celebrate

but is it necessary to be done this way
in  very lagre farmhouses which are really grand
which holds all type of cuisines
trying to show off their fat pay
cos the so many different foods are not a hit
all people need in the wedding food of chaat or dhoklay

A wedding is definitely a time to dance
but do we need the DJ stage
where for a long time I only see a small dancing boy
and when the gang actually comes
they don't need a floor to expel their rage
i say rage cos they are drunk which
they don't realise will bring down their age

A wedding is definitely a time to have fun
but I think that's what is lacking these days
people take a wedding more as a formality
even the host seems worked up
cos all the time he is on the run
to prove his money's might and display
his love for his daughter or son

A wedding is actually an important day
which was organised much beter in the past
where people actually rejoiced the ceremonies
even though the party was in a house
at least the couple made vows with their true heart
not like nowadays where the bond made with so much show off
sometimes doesn't even for an year last

A wedding should be seen as a day
where the dulha dulhan to each other commit
that forever they will be together
listen to each other is what they'll do
so that the jodi can be a great hit
and the elders shower their blessings
and the friends show their love saying they like it

Signing off...
